Wow what a month August has been. I have been away for two workshop weekends. One I did some teaching at and the other for fun. Also my mother-in-law had her 80th birthday party with over 70 guests. Recently two scrapbook shops have closed in our area which is sad for both the customers and the retailers. I cherish all my loyal customers and really appreciated you all, because without you all we wouldn't have our shop. A big thanks to all.
The countdown is happening. It's only four weeks until I'm a grandmother again.

ATC Camp Swap

We have to make 40 ATCs for our weekend camp, this is the one I made. I used my alcohol inks and stamped the flower with timber brown stazon. Then I sponged with timber brown on bottom and butterscotch dye ink over the rest of the background. I just loved the result and I called this ATC Summer Fires. Hope you like it, Karenxx
Camp Challenge 21-23 Aug 09

Workshop 21-23 Aug 09 Marlene Lynne-Trueman
Workshop 21-23 Aug 09 Vanessa Henry

What a fantastic workshop, right up my alley. I just loved it as collaging is one of my favourite things I like to create. We are presented with a bag of goodies and a sample to go by. It was amazing that 40 women can create 40 different pieces. There was not one which was the same as the sample or each other. Thanks Vanessa for a wonderful workshop.
Monthly Stamp Group Aug 09

When we met this month for our stamp group we continued to experiment with paint dabbers. Once we made our backgrounds we then stamped on them. We also used our negative stencils and stamped on them as well. We then sprayed the sponges of the paint dabber and made our splat background. We had so much fun, the afternoon went so quickly it was time to pack up before we realised it. Here are some of the backgrounds I created.
Paint Dabbers Backgrounds

I created these three backgrounds using Adirondack Acrylic Pain Dabbers and stencils. The first one I just pounced the sponge onto the page. The second and third backgrounds I removed paint from container and used my stencil I made on by Cricut die cutting machine. I sponged the whole card using one colour then I used my negative stencil over the top and sponged a darker colour, then I used the postivie stencil and sponged over a darker colour again. I really enjoyed experiment with these backgrounds
Workshop 1-2 Aug 09 Stitched Heart
Workshop Weekend 1-2 Aug 09
I recently attended a Stamping weekend in August with Women in Rubber. We created a variety of cards on the weekend. Thanks Michelle for teaching us these group of cards. The camp was attended by 30 women and there were a number of teachers available to us including myself. We had a fantastic weekend and came home exhausted. We created beautiful pieces of work. The following classes were taught by Michelle from Michells Cards thanks for a great class.
