Laraine's Handmade Book

Hi Everyone,

Our handmade books are back, I gave Laraine the challenge and she has accepted. So from this month on every second Friday of the month (unless public holiday) we will have a class making our books for journalling or photos, your choice. If you don't like the colours that's ok as we will have a variety of colours available on the day for you all. These days are always fun with lots of creating using a variety of techniques you will learn along the way.

Laraine's first book is a steam punk album theme. Here is a sneak peek of the cover.

Her first class is Fri 10th June 10am - 2pm Cost $50. Kit includes all materials and instructions to achieve your fantastic book.

Class Time Tables Are Available for Feb-Mar 16

 Hi Everyone,

Have updated the class timetable for you all.  Here are all the classes for Feb-Mar 16

CARD CLASSES WITH KAREN TUES AND THUR 10AM-12PM COST $25 OR OTHERWISE INDICATED

TUE 9^TH & THUR 11^TH FEB – Monthly Card Kit – Today we will create 6 cards with a grey and blue colours.  Please bring your basic tools kit, tapes and glues for card kit classes.

TUE 16^TH  & THUR 18^TH FEB – Background Technique – Today we will create our cards using embossing folders and distress inks. You will love this technique which can be used on many projects.

TUE 23^RD  & THUR 25^TH FEB – Triple sliding card – This card has lots of surprises for you.  We will have fun creating this one.

TUE 1^ST  & THUR 3^RD MAR – Easter Themed Card with matching Egg Holder – With Easter on it’s way it’s time to create those Easter goodies.

TUE 8^TH & THUR 10^TH MAR – Monthly Card Kit – We will continue our easter theme creating six cards for this time of the year.  Please bring your basic tools kit, tapes and glues for card kit classes.

TUE 15^TH & THUR 17^TH MAR – Glitter Cards – Today we will create our cards using a technique using shimmer sheetz, glitter and embossing folders.

TUE 22^ND & THUR 24^TH MAR – Patchwork and Stamping – Today we will use a number of techniques to create our patchwork card.  We will be using copic pens so if you want to bring your own your welcome.  Please make sure your pens are clearly marked.

TUE 29^TH & THUR 31^ST MAR – Floral Cards – Today we will learn to create a new flower for your cards.

SCRAPBOOKING CLASSES WED 10AM-12PM COST FROM $25

Please so not bring scrapbook trolley to class, as we do not have enough room, we thank you for your co-operation in this matter.  Each class you will create a single page, but in your kits there are instructions and supplies for double pages. Please check our blog and/or facebook page for upcoming images of our classes and information.  Follow us on Facebook (The Stampers Hut) and/or our blog (thestampershut.blogspot.com.au) so you don’t miss out on the latest information.

WED 10^TH FEB – KAREN – SEE BELIEVES – Your layout today we will be using Bo Bunny Emporium papers in purple and grey tones with an old world charm feel.  Page one will need 3 – 3 x 4 and page two 4 -  3 x 4 photos horizontal.  This layout would suit that special birthday photos or any special occasion.

WED 17^TH FEB – GWEN - BE-YOU-TIFUL - This layout and pocket page class uses the divine Simple Stories So Fancy paper.  We’ll be working with chipboard and paper layers, and I’ll share some ideas for working with your pocket pages.  I’ve even thrown in some hand stitching for those that are up for the challenge!  You will need to bring pink/brown ink, white glitter embossing powder. Photos required two 4x4 square, one 6x4, one 3x2.

WED 23^RD FEB – DIANNE – FOR THE ONE I LOVE – This layout class we will be using the Graphic 45 papers Mon Amour.  We will be creating all our embellishments from our gorgeous papers, so don’t forget your scissors.  You will need to bring along brown ink, gold and crystal glitter glue.   Photos required 3 – 6 x 4 Vertical.

WED 2^ND MARCH – LARAINE – MORE INFO TBA – This layout will be full of sparkle and bling with a girly theme.  You will create a pocket page for multi photos as your second page.

WED 9^th  MAR – KAREN – WHERE’S THE MOUSTACHE – Today we will use circles and flags using Adorn It Rhapsody Chatter papers with blues, greys and yellows.  We will also use stencils and crackle paste on our background to create our boys page.  You will need to bring along with you, hickory smoke distress ink (grey).  Phots required 2 – 4 x 6 vertical and 4 x 3 horizontal

WED SUMMER FUN – GWEN - This Summer/Beach inspired layout and pocket page class uses the striking Basic Grey Barista paper.  In this class I share ways to work with lots of photos without your page getting cluttered.  I’ve thrown in a misting technique for some extra fun!  You will need to bring black/brown ink.  Photos required Six 4x4 square

WED  23^RD MAR – DIANNE - FISHING ANYONE? - We will create our layout using papers from the Fab Scraps, great page for that family holiday around water with a fishing feel.   We will fussy cut our embellishments from the papers and layer then onto our papers.  You will need to bring blue ink. 

Photos 6 x 4 - 2  Vertical and 2  Horizontal.

WED 30^TH MAR – KAREN -WE ARE FAMILY – Our layout is nice and bright today using reds and blues, we will create lots of layers using the Adorn It Family Path papers.  You will need to bring brown ink. Photos required 2 – 6x4 vertical and 3 – 4x3 horizontal.

JAY’S OFF THE PAGE PROJECT FROM 10AM FINAL TIMES AND COST TO BE ADVISED

FRI 26^TH FEB – COME FLY WITH ME – You will create a truly stunning piece today using a variety of mixed media techniques on a 12 x 12 canvas board.  Sample available soon in shop.  I would suggest you book early with Jay as her class will fill quickly.

We will create a stunning wall piece using our new 3D Flex product.  We will make a clay from the 3D Flex and create texture using stencils.  You can make your piece in your own colour tones to match your own décor.  Sample in shop now.

Powertex Workshop

 

Hi Everyone,

We had a wonderful Powertex workshop on Sat 26th Oct, 15.  They created some stunning pieces.  Meagan's piece is blue and silver, Anja's piece is pink and silver, and my Mum's piece (who is 82 years old and still creating) is pink and gold.

I just loved them and I think their pieces were better than mine, well done everyone.

Powerprint Workshop

We conducted our workshop on the weekend using our Powertex products here are some of the results.  We incorporated gilding flakes using the Bronze Powertex, buttons and natural fibres, along with Powertrix powders for colour.

Mixed Media Collage Backgrounds

 Hi Everyone,

These are some of the Mixed Media Collage backgrounds I created for a class. Everyone created a number of pieces in my classes, they all made some truly amazing pieces, not one piece was the same.

It's amazing what you can create from a few stamps and ink pads.  I love to share the many years of using stamps.  So take out those stamps and ink pads and start creating you will be amazed at what happens.

Mixed Media Album using Powertex Mon 23rd March, 15

Hi Everyone,

Here is a sneak peek of the outside cover of our Mixed Media Album Workshop. Places are limited so book early.

Powertex Workshp - Travel Album
Mon 23rd March,15 10am-1pm Cost $50 includes all materials to finish your project and refreshments (This workshop will be conducted in the shop)

You will create an amazing book.  Denise will guide you through the steps to create this mixed media album. She will show you a number of techniques when making your album cover using the Powertex products, as well as making your inside pages, you will need approx 20 photos 4 x 6.  The book is themed travel using the Graphic 45 Come Away With Me papers.

You will need to bring along with you an apron (and wear old clothes), thin skin type rubber gloves (Ansell disposable), 1/2" and 1" paint brushes (with synthetic fibres) old towel for cleaning (you will throw it out), crop-a-dile (if you have one), hairdryer (speed up the drying process)
